Jesus, Take the Wheel

Years ago, when I was a young girl, my family was driving in Ogden, Utah. My mother was driving, and my 6 brothers and sisters were with me in the old station wagon. We had just started across a busy intersection, when suddenly we heard the punch of a siren very near.
As I turned my head, toward the startling sound, I saw a police car barreling toward our car. Time stood still as my mind tried to grasp the dire situation unfolding. That police car was going to crash into ours, very near my seat. There was no time for response to avoid the collision, though my mother, had slammed on the brakes at the first sound of the siren.
In a blink of my eye, the scene transformed in an astonishing way. That threatening vehicle, suddenly was sitting still facing the opposite direction. It was as if some giant hand from above, had reached down and picked up that patrolman's car, then set it quickly and gently down facing 180 degrees from the direction it had been traveling.
There was no physical way that my family could have avoided death that day. God, himself, performed a miracle that preserved our lives.
In spite of the awful situation that we find ourselves in, as citizens of the United States of America, remember that God loves us, and He is mighty to rescue His people. It can happen in the blink of an eye. Or, it can happen as He gives us power and promptings to take the right steps for ourselves, our families, and our nation. May we ever trust in Him.
