The Road to Freedom Leads through the National Parks

The recent actions of the National Park Service in expelling vacationers and residents from National Parks, by force of arms, is causing quite a push back among citizens of this nation.  It is useful to review just how much property – from sea to shining sea – is claimed by the United States Federal Government.

The federal government owns about 650 million acres of natural resource lands.  This totals 28% of the total land in the United States. Aside from a few million acres managed by the Department of Defense, those lands are nearly all managed by four agencies, three of which are in the Department of the Interior:

  • The most valuable lands are the 192 million acres of national forests managed by the Forest Service, which is in the Department of Agriculture;
  • The most extensive lands are the 270 million acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) of the Department of the Interior;
  • The most famous lands are the 80 million acres of parks, monuments, historic sites, and recreation and other areas managed by the National Park Service of the Department of the Interior;
  • The most obscure lands are the 90 million acres of fish and wildlife refuges managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, also in the Department of the Interior.

Article I Section 8, clause 17 of the United States Constitution states:

“Congress shall have power to . . . exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square), as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings...”

The Tenth Amendment states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

The Federal Government has vastly exceeded its Constitutional limits as evidenced by the Constitutional Article and Amendment above.  The States have the authority and the duty to control those lands that are not used for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards and other needful buildings.

The opportunity to recover this power to our individual States has been presented to us by the draconian lockup of the lands in that belong to the Citizens of the States.  Freedom minded people must teach others in their local area, including County Sheriffs, Mayors and other officials to gather together a group to employ your State’s rights at your nearby Federal Park or other unconstitutional Federally claimed property.  Armed citizens, with the support of their Sheriffs must take control of, and open for the use of their residents the lands within their States.  Should officials decline or refuse to participate, whether due to fear, or any other reason, that person is violating their Oath of Office and should subsequently be arrested.

It is imperative to remember that the Citizens of Germany didn’t protest the Night of the Long Knives, or the Night of Broken Glass, due to fear.  They didn’t stand up to their Government, when their children were forced into the Nazi Youth, due to fear.  Fear should not be governing our actions.  We must have Faith!  Faith in the righteousness of our Cause…  Faith in our God guiding our actions…  Faith that we will prevail…  If we do not do our duty, we shall be held responsible for the evil course upon which this Nation seems bound to forge!
